Foreword

‘Beyond 2 Palettes’ is brought to you with an explosion of expressionism. Our artworks reflect the way in which we absorb our environment.

We record what we see simultaneously capturing our feelings, or emotional connections with our chosen subject matter. Focusing and depicting our subjects with dignity and compassion; parallel with meaning and expression. Using travel, life experiences, real people, real places, gives the artworks an arresting expressive energy.

Whether being an Ullger or an Alcantara, we both try to give the strong impression of seeing through our eyes and feeling what we felt on meeting that person or encountering that scape.

There is an organic connection between those themes within the artworks, techniques and style used. The artworks tell their own stories: They take the shape of a monologue. To a certain extent, some of the artworks are like mild whisperings from our society; whether it is the protective Berber mother in front of her family or the encapsulating stare from ‘Ella’. Each and every painting has a life of its own.
